- Bathing or grooming
- Dressing and undressing
- Taking medications
- Toileting
- Mobility
- Range of Motion Exercises
- Eating
Assistance may also be provided with certain activities that assist the individual in maintaining his or her home such as:
- Preparing meals and cleaning up after a meal
- Laundry
- Grocery shopping
- Housekeeping
- Maintain adaptive equipment such as a wheelchair
- Assistance in attending medical appointments
As a MassHealth–approved Personal Care Attendant Agency, UCP provides intake and orientation services to help individuals learn about the program; evaluation by a Registered Nurse and occupational Therapist to determine eligibility for the program; and on-going skills training, if needed and/or desired, to enable individuals to make effective use of the program.
The Mass PCA Directory is sponsored by the PCA Workforce Council and it offers a comprehensive and current list of people in Massachusetts who are ready to provide personal care and consumers who are hiring PCAs. Visit www.masspcadirectory.org to get started!
