Day Services


United Cerebral Palsy of MetroBoston offers therapeutic services and life skills training to promote independence in adults with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. These programs encourage community participation and provide integrated opportunities for recreation and personal growth.

Community Experience

The Community Experience program emphasizes on acquiring independent living skills. In addition, individuals are integrated into their community through participation in many off-site activities. Individuals may, for instance select volunteer opportunities they want to pursue.

Services provided by the Community Experience program includes:

  • Occupational therapy
  • Speech therapy
  • Nursing supervision
  • Information, referrals and social work services
  • Daily living skills
  • Physical therapy
  • Developmental skills training
  • Behavioral intervention
  • Functional living skills
  • Community integration activities

Day Habilitation

This successful program began in 1983 to serve adults with multiple disabilities. Program participants benefit from individualized services, designed specifically to meet each person's need and help attain their goals. Many are young adults who have graduated from special education programs. UCP Day Hab provides these young adults an opportunity for further skill enhancement. In addition, all other participants benefit from an opportunity for personal growth.
